P — B

We turn to wood the way some people turn to water or sky, looking for quiet, for clarity, for something true.

For Paul Borawski, woodturning begins in the bright, simple world of childhood: a grandfather’s steady hands, recycled fruit crates, straightened nails, and the permission to make whatever a seven-year-old can imagine. Those early days never really left. They waited — through a busy career and the growth of his children, until time finally opened up again.

Now, in his Sturgeon Bay studio, Paul follows the grain the way you follow a story. Each piece is a small act of listening, revealing the beauty already living inside the wood. No formal training. No rigid rules. Just patience, practice, and work that comes from the heart … or someplace deeper.

Welcome. Take your time. Let the wood speak.
